Tearing Down What Tears Others Down

"Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen."
Ephesians 4:29

Today I made this verse a prayer of mine. I asked the Lord that He would train me so that I do not let anything come out of my mouth that would tear another down. I asked for a tugging of the Holy Spirit on my heart each time I said something that did not line up with this verse. I realized something today. The majority of the things that come out of my mouth are negative, either about myself or others. I can't even count the number of times today that I felt a tug at my heart, and felt the Holy Spirit tell me, "This dos not line up with the Word." All I can say is its going to be a long journey. But I'm excited for it. Although I realized today that a major part of me needs to change, I'm very excited because some day I will be able to speak to people in ways that will be encouraging and uplifting. Imagine if we all decided to follow the rule our parents taught us when we were younger. "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all." This doesn't mean that you should never correct someone when they are wrong or let them know when they have hurt you, but rather being able to do it in such a way that is helpful and helps to build them up rather than tear them down. Imagine the way that the love of Christ would shine from us if we could just learn how to speak to each other and how to speak about one another.
I challenged myself today, for the first time in a long time. I am making a conscious decision to live out this verse in my life. I welcome anyone to let me know when I am not living this out.

For Kristin May

ok so I haven't updated in a while, probably because my life is not so intresting so I figured that no one really cares to know whats going on, but since Kristin May is curious, I figured I would update.  things in the Valentin house are going pretty well.  Money is kinda tight.  We have to pay off our school bill in the next 3 weeks which is impossible apart from God, but we serve an awesome God and He has made provisions for us to get everything all paid off.  Isaac and I are both working full time right now and going to school.  Isaac is working for security at our school (the sexiest security guard ever by the way) and I work in the drive thru of McDonalds (Welcome to McDonalds, may I take your order?)  I'm actually enjoying my job very much.  God has given me much favor there and I'm able to get alot of reading done.   As of right now, we are in desperate need of a car, mostly because we don't have one and don't have money for one, but we are trusting God.   We are about to start getting ready to raise fund to go on a mission trip to Japan and Korea this summer.  We're gonna have to raise about $6,000.  Praise Him, I'm sure He will work it all out.  Currently I am working on writing a book for young girls about restoration of purity.  Its gonna be a long process but an intresting one I'm sure.  Other than that, Thanksgiving just passed and I made my very first thanksgiving turkey!! AND IT WAS VERY YUMMY!!!!!  Well, thats about it for now.  Have a lovely day

We're back from the mission trip.  It was absolutely amazing.  God really did some awsome things while we were over there.  I wanna write all about it, however, Isaac and I are both real sick right now and we have barely left bed in the past 2 days so I'm probably gonna go lay down some more and when I'm better I will be posting some stories and pictures.
